About Delyse Sylvester

This is how Delyse is a Changemaker:
Delyse has recently joined the Changemakers team as Director of Marketing. She has been an advocate and trainer in social marketing and mission based fundraising for over 15 years. Active in the environmental movement in her teens, Delyse worked on issues of deforestation in Africa and promoting fair trade in Canada before the term was widely known. Following volunteer placements in India and Indonesia, Delyse was the senior cross cultural trainer for Canadian Crossroads International and co-chair of B.C. Council for International Cooperation. As Western Regional Fundraiser with CUSO, Canada’s oldest and largest international NGO, she implemented a major gift and planned giving program and with a group of development leaders secured CUSO’s largest single gift of $8 million. She has spent the past eight years with Selkirk College – her latest position as Director of Communications and Fund Development where she established a $7 million endowment and implemented Selkirk College’s first corporate brand contributing to reversing a national trend by being the only B.C. College to increase enrollments. She is active as Board Director of Inter Pares and advisor to her local Community Foundation. She shares her passion for the wild beauty of her region with her two teenage daughters, partner and friends including hiking, road biking, cross country skiing, and camping.
