As an activist, Singh not only chronicles the world with her photographs but is also the founder and first CEO of Aidmatrix. The innovative approach to humanitarian relief mobilizes over $1.5 billion in aid and relief annually, working with 35,000 fellow charities on 5 continents to feed over 25 million a year. Under Singh’s visionary leadership, Aidmatrix met its five-year goal to touch 50 million lives by 2005. She serves as a World Technology Network Fellow in Social Entreprenuership and has received the Computerworld Honors Award. Lekha Singh’s photographs offer insight and understanding of people around the world. It is often said that her work opens “a window to the world.” Her photos are featured in National Geographic’s The Other Side of War: Women’s Stories of Survival and Hope and The Making of an Activist. Her third book, Call to Love: In the Rose Garden with Rumi will be released in late 2007.
