The University Challenge is designed to engage a new generation in the social change movement AND attract global thought leaders and investors in the process.

Access to influential leaders in the field and exposure to cutting-edge research and scholarship on social entrepreneurship practices

Profile of your college as a leader in educational opportunities, online social networking, and active membership in building social entrepreneurship movements
Join the Challenge
Central to the collaboration is the online commentary that takes place during the course of each competition. Ashoka’s Changemakers invites universities and colleges from all over the globe to contribute to building the movement as commentators.
Who should join the Challenge?
Faculty, staff, students and alumni from numerous disciplines.
The University Challenge Awards
Directly following each competition, participating University communities will be awarded a number of prizes:
Student:
Two $500 prizes for students with the most substantive contributions
Faculty:
$1000 to the faculty representative with the most substantive contributions to be awarded to the program or center of her/his choice that supports social entrepreneurship
University:
$3000 grant to the college whose faculty, staff, students and alumni contributed the most insightful comments and stimulated the most robust online review
Faculty and Student Awards will be judged on outstanding contributions in the following areas:
Online discussion.
Lending insights from area of expertise related to the theme of the competition that engages entrant and online viewer discussion.
Directing entrants and online viewers to resources in field.
Promoting competition amongst networks encouraging participation in the competition including new entries, online commentary and discussion on other blog sites and social networks sites.
The University Award will be in recognition of the overall outstanding contributions by University’s faculty, staff and students.
