Located four blocks from the White House, The George Washington University was created by an Act of Congress in 1821. Today, GW is the largest institution of higher education in the nation's capital. The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, residing in the GW School of Business, offers a Masters of Tourism Administration (MTA) degree. This internationally oriented degree prepares students for management positions in tourism, hospitality, sport, event and meeting management careers. The MTA program offers concentrations in Event and Meeting Management, Sport Management, and Sustainable Destination Management, and Hospitality Management.
