AMUN, the Americas Model United Nations, is an educational project voluntarily organized by the undergraduate students of the University of Brasilia. Its aim is to disseminate among its participants the Purposes and Principles of the United Nations, so as to help them develop a global-citizenship conscience and greater tolerance towards different cultures, as well as to make them understand the importance of actively taking part in the process of constructing a more harmonious international society.

The project culminates in an annual international conference. About four hundred undergraduate students from all over the world come to Brasilia each year to attend the AMUN conference, in which each of them acts as a diplomat, representing his/her assigned country's position on the discussions – which broach the most relevant current matters in the international relations' main topic areas, such as security, human rights' protection, environmental issues, and international cooperation.

AMUN is the most traditional Model UN conference in Brazil, and the AMUN annual conference takes place in July, in the capital city of Brasilia.
