The Men’s Health Forum’s mission is to provide an independent and authoritative voice for male health and to tackle the issues affecting the health and well-being of boys and men in England and Wales.
The Forum, was founded in 1994, is an independent body that works with a wide range of individuals and organisations to tackle this problem. Now well-established, we work for the development of health services that meet men’s needs and to enable men to change their risk-taking behaviours. Our vision is a future in which all boys and men in England and Wales have an equal opportunity to attain the highest possible level of health and well-being. In this future:
Health and other public policy takes fully into account the specific experiences and needs of boys and men.
Health services are designed to meet the specific needs of boys and men in terms of both health promotion and treatment.
Boys and men are supported to develop the personal skills necessary to exercise more control over their own health and well-being.
Supportive domestic, workplace and leisure environments encourage and sustain the health and well-being of boys and men.
The Forum believes male health problems should not be tackled by re-allocating resources or shifting attention away from female health.
