About Bamine Charlie Boye

Bamine Charlie Boye is a young man with a lots of vision in life. His vision became more intensify and shaped when he was faced directly with the decade years of war in Sierra Leone which was classified as the most brutal war in African history. Bamine has held a lots of position in the field of advocating for children and youth He was the President for the Children of Sierra Leone from 2005-2007 through the Children's Forum Network which is a child to child advocacy group established by the children and government of Sierra Leone and its partners in other for it to serve as a respected and national voice for children. During his term as President he work with a lots of International organizations including Unicef,Plan,Save the Children UK,CARE,CARITAS,DCI-SL etc to implement a lots of child protection,participation and child survival programs. Bamine has also served as his country Child Expert to the Economic Commission of West African State (ECOWAS) Executive Secretariat in Abuja,Nigeria from January 11-14 2007 for the drafting of the first ever ECOWAS child policy. He has served as his country Youth Representative to the 101 Young African Leaders which they held their first ever forum in Accra,Ghana from October 16-20 2007. Moreover Bamine has got a great pride of achievement in his advocacy field in June 2007 when he finally was able to accomplished the long fight that was started in 1992 by a lots of people, but this fight was unfinished and he was able to finish it through the support of Unicef and other agency for the domestication of the CRC in to our local laws which was passed in Parliament as a Child Right Act. Bamine was awarded in 2006 by the government and children of Sierra Leone as the Child Advocates of the year which was a great pride to him and his family and this award was presented to him by the then Minister of Social Welfare,Gender and Children's Affairs Hon. Dr. Shirley Y. Gbujama. Finally Bamine has his continues vision to work for and with children and to serve them because he has the believes that children are future nation builders so they should be taken care of. In April 2008 Bamine Founded set up a Venture name Help the Needy Child-Sierra Leone which focus is to support children with special needs and this his Venture was approved by Youth Venture in June 2008. Moreover Bamine is the founder of Children's Agenda-International with the mission to advocate,lobby,raise funds and providing of supports to children in developing countries more in war and post war countries like Sierra Leone which is his country of resident and birth. This his organization since its interception has helped a lots of children in 50 communities and also in 27 schools in areas like: Educational supports,Health Care and water and sanitation .HIV/AIDS campaigns and supports to children who are infected and affected, child Participation and implementing of programs to reduce child right violation of all types. Bamine is an inspiration to a lots of his colleagues and has inspired a lots of people through his story and his current work that he is doing for children.
