I have done very limited work in the social arena. I have just begun to get involved. Iam an IIT DElhi Mech Eng(1969) and an MBA in Hotel Management from Michigan State University USA(1971). I have been managing a small family owned business founded by my late father of a sheet metal fabrication workshop producing custom built commercial foodservice and kitchen equipment since 1972. I ahve tried to create a development model for a village community of about 1000-1200 persons by investing US$1 million within one year to upgrade the infrastructure and provide training and seed fund to the inhabitants. Some of the initial experiences with my own funds have taught me the ground reality about many facets of a developing village life and I feel more ready to reformulate the plans and processes.
