Positioning in the Mosaic of solutions
What is your signature innovation, your new idea, in one sentence? - voices of heros of change is an innovation that focuses on motivating peer groups and communites for greater action as a stategy for ending slavery which has it root at the community level
Describe your innovation. What makes your idea unique and different than others doing work in the field? - many of today,s innovation focuses on the problem rather than the root of the problem,voices of heros is an initative that seeks to address the issue of global slavery from the community level as many of the local actors of slavery are un aware of the effect of their action,the uniqueness of our approach is in our ability to mobilize peer group and communities for support on the need to end slavery,see themselves as agent of change who,s voices is today,s needed solution to the problem of slavery,our innovation will also showcase the negative effect of slavery on the individual and the community
Delivery Model: How do you implement your innovation and apply it to the challenge/problem you are addressing? - one of the major problem at the community level is the lack of awareness on the effect of slavery,we would through the use of drama,documentries and story-line from the survivals of slavery begin a massive awareness rasing programme,a major component of the awareness programme will also be a series of public appreciation of those we regard as the voices of heros of change:this are community leaders and peer group members who are supportive of this innovation,they would form major part of the faces on our awareness posters and infomation materials
How do you plan to grow your innovation? - we intend to grow this innovation by having a National launch of the voices of heros thereby making it a National massive awareness initiative in every small communites of Nigeria and also encoraging partnership form other youth based organisation
Do you have any existing partnerships, and if so, how do you create them? - we have partnership through the various youth led network that we belong,we also have a range of partners as a result of our past effort in addressing issues that affect our commuinties and target population
Provide one sentence describing your impact/intended impact. - we hope to place the communities who are the people most affected by issues of global slavery on the for-front of addressing the problem ,we also hope to highlight the deverstating effect of slavery on our people
How many people have you served or plan to serve? - we plan to serve about 30 million people through our various programmes
Please list any other measures of the impact of your innovation? - our innovation would bring about a fundermental reduction in the incidence of slavery,a people who are more commited to addressing their own problem.
Exactly who are the beneficiaries of your innovation? - young people in communites who are the most at rist to global slavery
How is your initiative financed (or how do you expect your initiative will be financed)? - the initiative is currently a self financed one but i intend to reach out to other members of the public and agencies who might share in my vision for support
If known, provide information on your finances and organization - Annual budget;
Annual revenue generated; Number of staff: Number of staff-Eight What is the potential demand for your innovation? - the potential demand for my innovation is very high ,as it is an innitiative that seek to upleft our country and the world from the boundage of slavery and uphold the dignity of the human race
What are the main barriers to financial sustainability? - one of the main barriers to financial sustainabillity is the lack of financial support in itself
What is the origin of this innovation? Tell us your story. - growing up for me is a function of dreams,a world that is truly free,but as a boy the impossibility of my dream world began to set in,seeing little kids who have been brought in as domestic slave being maltreated by their masters with little or no access to food or good medical care truly broke my heart and motivated me to action because for me changing the world begins with taking a personal action
Please provide a personal bio. Note this may be used in Changemakers marketing material - my name is moses imayi ,iam a youth activist who truly belives in the powers of my dreams to make a diffrence in today,s difficult world,my involvement in issues relating to youth development is a function of my growing up experiences;growing up to the fact that it takes me to make my dreams come true and that changing the world starts with an action by me,iam the Executive Director of youth action rangers of nigeria which is a formost youth focused NGO advocating and implementing programmes that will enhance the reproductive health and rights of Nigeria youths,iam a recipant of many awards for my contribution to the development of Nigeria youth,an agent of change and one of today,s solution to the problems of the world,iam very passionate,hardworking and vision driving but lack the needed support to do more

Thank you for the article! Where was it culled from....?
Could we please have more of it, maybe then it woulod provoke a more holistic and proactive response. Well done!!!
thank you,the article was called from the punch newspaper of tuesday,july15, 2008 .pls join us in our effort to make our world a great place.
We need to take urgent action to end global slavery,as the effect is becoming very significant,reading through a local Nigeria Newspaper (the punch of tuesday,july15,page 13)made today a sad day for me,pls find some of the details from the story below;
THE Executive Secretary,National Agency for the prohibition in trafficking in person has said that not less than 15 commercial sex workers had tested positive to HIV in Lagos in the last one week,she said this during a courtesy visit to the state Governor,Mr.Babatunde Fashola,in lagos on friday.
She described the rescue as a very pathetic story.
Reacting,Fashola called on men and women of good conscience to rise up and prevent the entrenchment of another slave trade in the form of human trafficking,200 years after the heinous act was abolished worldwide.
He implored all parents to be vigilant about whom they entrust their children to and added that now is the time for government to provide education that is free and accessible to all people toward stemming the tide,as it has become the stock in trade of those who recruit unsuspecting victims into the trade with promises of access to better education.
This is just one example of many cases,global slavery is REAL and we need to stand up and take ACTION,NOW
