Nancy Gagnon's Profile

About Nancy Gagnon

This is how Nancy is a Changemaker:
I never really considered myself a changemaker until I get into the community with people and want to feel that I have made a difference in their lives. Even with my family I want to leave as a legacy to them and say that I did all I could to make their lives content, happy.

The place for which Nancy feels a fondness or connection:
As a child I lived on a farm in rural southwestern Ontario. My fondest memories were to ride my horse to the quietest part of the woods and wade my feet in the pond with crawfish and small fish swimming around me. As an adult I still appreciate the outdoors and gardening and feel at peace near the water. In my travels I love to go places where there is no hustle and bustle, where life is serene and peaceful and the waterfalls are crystal clear.

The change Nancy passionately wants to happen:
There are times when I wish we lived back in horse and buggy times, but then I see the growth we have achieved over the years. the ability to live in a world where we can make change happen. My passion is probably my love for people - wanting the best for them, wanting changes to be made to improve the lives of all, giving of myself and offering my heart to make others happy.

Bio

For over 30 years, I've worked in a role of helping others, through charities like feeding and clothing the homeless in our local programs, through education by training to work with disabled children, seniors and then specializing in Acquired Brain injury to do rehabilitation. Assisting in the integration of persons with disabilities to live and work in their community has been my life work. My husband and I have raised two beautiful daughters to adulthood and live in a bustling community in Ontario.
