Antoine Eloi's Profile

About Antoine Eloi

This is how Antoine is a Changemaker:
I have helped young people realize their abilities to effect change where they previously believed there was no hope. This understanding has changed the mindsets of individuals and communities.

The place for which Antoine feels a fondness or connection:
I strongly feel connected to Nigeria and West Africa. The potential of the region is neglected and cast aside as lost, but I see fertile ground for an economic and political transformation in the 21st century; all that is needed is focussed and wise leadership.

The change Antoine passionately wants to happen:
I want to see the corruption that is crippling West Africa, and the rest of the Continent, cease and the abundant human and natural resources utilized to their full potentials.

Bio

I have been Co-Founder/Development Director since Leadership Initiatives inception (2004), and have been serving as Program Manager for Nigeria since 2005. I have helped grow LI's donor base and diversify its sources of funds, as well as facilitated the implementation of student-designed and -led projects in Nigeria. As a result of my work, I was awarded the 2007 YouthActionNet Global Fellowship. I worked for the South African Catholic Bishops' Conference (Cape Town, South Africa) in 2002 and wrote their annual paper (Globalization's Effect on Resource Poor Farmers: A South African Example).
