About Mark Crandall

This is how Mark is a Changemaker:
I am the founder & international director of Hoops 4 Hope, Inc., a global non-profit organization. Most of our programs directly benefit young people in the townships of South Africa & Zimbabwe. We use basketball and soccer as a vehicle to deliver our innovative "Skills4Life" curriculum and HIV prevention programs. We have come a long way since I started Hoops 4 Hope 12 years ago and our growing family of caring people is now reaching over 10,000 children a year, helping them survive in comunities plagued by HIV/AIDS, poverty, crime, and substance abuse.

The place for which Mark feels a fondness or connection:
Surrounded by hundreds of smiling children on a playground in Africa or anywhere engaged in a family hug with my wife and daughters.

The change Mark passionately wants to happen:
I aim to help children have access to sports, education and fun, and to help young people educate each other in a creative ways so we can all tackle the challenges we face every day, creating new leaders who can help us find solutions to our common problems.
