Stephanie Dybsky's Profile

About Stephanie Dybsky

This is how Stephanie is a Changemaker:
I am committed to making a significant, productive impact in the world. Specifically, I am interested in rural development in East Africa. Academically, I have devoted my efforts to positively influencing the global community; I received my B.A. in International Studies in 2006 and will be starting my Masters program at the University of Denver in fall 2008. After receiving my Masters, I plan to use my gained skills and knowledge to assist rural communities in Africa.

The place for which Stephanie feels a fondness or connection:
Last March 2007, I spent 2 weeks in Kitojo, Uganda. By living, eating, working, sharing, crying, laughing, playing, and assisting the rural community members, I developed a unique bond with the people there. The lush landscape, beautiful culture, and friendly attitude that surrounded me made me feel welcome. My encounters with the local people will continue to inspire me and have forever changed my world perspective.

The change Stephanie passionately wants to happen:
I want the governments of the world to work from their hearts. My hope is that leaders, teachers, and others in powerful positions choose to exercise their power and make decisions that positively influence. I hope the people of the world who are ready for change, stability, equality, unity, and erradication of poverty and disease take up these challenges and are able to reach those with similar mindsets. I want those living in "third world countries" to have access to basic needs, resources, and the peace and justice they deserve.
