About Samit Shah

This is how Samit is a Changemaker:
Samit joined the Ashoka Changemakers team as an intern in the spring of 2008. Currently a senior in the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, he is majoring in Science, Technology, and International Affairs with a concentration in Global Health and International Development. Samit's desire to create social change stems from early exposure to the social, economic, and political problems facing developing countries through experiences in India. Prior to joining Changemakers, Samit worked in Costa Rica to develop methods of increasing technological access for marginalized urban populations and taught at a community center in South Africa. He was also the director of a Georgetown University program that distributes food to the homeless in Washington, D.C., and worked at the Global Banking division of Deutsche Bank's Wall Street office in New York City. Samit is originally from Brookfield, Connecticut, and enjoys running, traveling, and watching movies.
