Ugochukwu Nwosu is a young Nigerian, Passionate about developing from the roots. He managed a service delivery company Chika Nwosu and sons Company towards the end of high school and holds a Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Physics from Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo state, Nigeria. He served as an intern in various establishments which include, Nigerian Ports Authority, Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company and also as Editor-in-Chief or NAPS Press – a campus press outfit.
He was one of the young champions of the advocacy for WSIS as the coordinator for the Owerri WISIS Policy train as part of the Nigerian Youth Coalition on ICTs. Ugochukwu is the strategy team leader of African Youth ICT4D Network Nigeria, and also the founder of Base Network Africa, a youth led initiative that has brought smiles to face of rural youths in Imo State. He has also served on various local, national and international youth policy making comities towards developing youth capacity in ICTs.
Ugochukwu has consulted for various institutions including, Heinrich Boll Foundation Lagos Office (WSIS, ARPM Accra’05), Ford Foundation West Africa (WSIS Tunis ’05), Nigeria Communications Commission (World Telecom Development Conference, ARPM Abuja’05), Abstract review committee member (XVI International Aids Conference, 13-18 August 2006, Toronto, Canada). He was also a member of the Open Net Initiative Consulting team on Internet Research in Nigeria, Supported by, Harvard University (USA), Cambridge University, Oxford University, and Toronto University He is currently the Program Manager of Ajegunle.org (www.ajegunle.org) – special train the trainer program that focuses on relay training to transform Ajegunle, a notorious slum in Lagos, Nigeria. In his spare time, he loves to read and travel. He also loves meeting people.
