About Inder Sud

This is how Inder is a Changemaker:
I am involved in a variety of efforts for poverty alleviation. I teach international development at the graduate level to help young people develop skills that would allow them to pursue careers in this field.

The place for which Inder feels a fondness or connection:
All of Asia and the Middle East. India, China, Jordan, Afghanistan and Yemen are the countries that fascinate me the most.

The change Inder passionately wants to happen:
Rid the world of abject poverty.

Bio

I am an Adjunct Professor of International Development Studies at the Elliott School of International Affairs of The George Washington University. I joined the Elliot School after a long career at the World Bank where I worked for some 28 years in a variety of positions in policy, operations and research. My expertise includes design and implementation of policies and programs for poverty alleviation. My sectoral experiences at the World Bank included energy, transport, urban development and water supply and sanitation. At Elliott School, I have taught courses on development policy and practice. And design and implementation of economic reforms in developing countries, and supervise Masters students’ capstone projects. I hold a PhD from Stanford University. Dr. Sud consults for a variety of multi-lateral, bilateral and developing country governments.
