The University of Maryland School of Social Work is ranked in the top 20 schools of social work by U.S.News & World Report and is part of a vibrant community and a thriving campus of graduate and professional students.

Graduates of the School of Social Work have become policymakers at all levels of government, from the U.S. Senate to the state and federal courts, to the State Department and departments of social services. They are educators and researchers at universities across the country.

Our students become therapists, community organizers, and managers who are leaders in direct services to children, families, and the elderly in communities, in health care, and in public and private organizations. Graduates also return to the School of Social Work for its continuing education program, which is one of the most comprehensive in the country.
