What is your signature innovation, your new idea, in one sentence? - Involving youths to create awareness through Street drama which is one of the effective audio-visual tool to raise awareness
Describe your innovation. What makes your idea unique and different than others doing work in the field? - Being a human right organization we basically look after women issues with a special focus on girl trafficking so, the medium of street drama would help to target larger audience or community people of rural areas to create awareness on such critical issues of different places.
Delivery Model: How do you implement your innovation and apply it to the challenge/problem you are addressing? - ABC Nepal has been implementing this innovative awareness program in different parts of the country by providing training to youths and also disseminating various information's regarding the issues of human trafficking and HIV/AIDS. In this manner we can tackle the growing problem of human trafficking from rural settings with awareness campaign.
How do you plan to grow your innovation? - We have already covered half of the Nepal to show our dramas more than 700 Street dramas have been showcased in the 36 districts of Nepal. Therefore we are planning to take this medium of awareness to other parts of the districts that have not been covered. Eventually we will be covering all the five development regions of the country.

How is your initiative financed (or how do you expect your initiative will be financed)? - Basically NGOs are run through Donor funded programs, In the same manner our organization also has similar source of fund but to showcase such strong medium of awareness campaign we are supporting self reliant option that is by being self sustainable and raising fund through various sources such as selling of handicrafts products made by the victims, Charitable fund raising programs like movies, raffle tickets, picnics and so forth. We also run number of women saving and cooperative groups so all the savings are being used to conduct such awareness programs
If known, provide information on your finances and organization - Annual budget;

What are the main barriers to financial sustainability? - The main barrier to financial sustainability is for being a donor dependent. Our organization being a non profit social and human right organization has been conducting its program through financial support from various donor agencies. However we are also doing different fund raising programs such as training on various women related issues to concerned circle of people charging them training charge similarly by showcasing charity movies, raffles and so forth.
What is the origin of this innovation? Tell us your story. - The origin of this innovation came to our organization when for the first time we successfully showcased a Drama in Nawalparashi a rural district of Nepal. There we portrayed the effect and impact to the family and girl who is trafficked. Post trafficking how there life has been hindered and what happens to the girl ultimately. This drama captured full attention of the large audience and as a result some of the audiences were so motivated that they themselves started do showcase small street drams to every nooks and corners of the districts forming small groups. Especially students of various schools were so moved by the theme of the drama that they formed groups and displayed their work in schools, bazaar areas and are continuing to do so.
Thus, we think that to convey a message against human trafficking street drama has become a strong medium of creating awareness at larger context. Please provide a personal bio. Dear Durga:
I love the sound of your program, with the street drama and youth involvement. Is there a way to track the number of affected individuals? Can you quantify a decline in trafficked individuals? Lastly, are you only relying on donors, or are you applying for grants as well?
Also, have you considered an education component for boys so that the girl trafficking practice becomes unacceptable when they become fathers?
