Sea Kayak Adventures Inc nominated by : Fred Grote | April 29, 2008
Country: United States
Organization: Sea Kayak Adventures Inc
Website: www.seakayakadventures.com
Project Description:
Permitted to run fully guided sea kayaking and whale watching tours in Loreto Bay National Marine Park and Magdalena (both federally protected). They have trained a whole cadre of local Mexicans into certified, highly qualified and experienced sea kayaking and naturalist guides. They were the first to develop and use a porta potty to fit into the center hatch of a double fiberglass kayak.
Fred Grote's Story:
The company is very committed to educating both locals and tourists about the wonders of the Sea of Cortez/Gulf of Mexico and the gray whales of Magdalena Bay, and protecting those precious resources for the future, especially now as Loreto is being discovered by land developers and retiring baby boomers. I was just on one of the company's trips April 2008 and saw whales and dolphins daily
