On May 28, 2008, the judges reviewed the entries for the Changemakers “Geotourism Challenge” and would like to pass on this feedback for your entry. Thank you for applying and for your hard work in the field. We are excited to archive your entry to serve as a leading solution for the worldwide community of sustainable tourism innovators. We wish you continued luck with your sustainable, innovative, and socially impactful initiatives.

All the best, The Changemakers Team

“The community connection in this initiative is powerful. I appreciate the energy behind connecting tourists with community leaders and experts in their field to create solid relationships of learning and understanding.”

“However, the project should work on their sustainability to ensure long term success. They need to create more commercial partnerships, expand the network and, in doing so, conduct more outreach outside of Brazil. The program will benefit from increased publicity.”

-Changemakers Geotourism Judges: National Geographic Society, Past President the Ford Foundation, whl.travel - World Hotel Link, ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth.

Hello,

I am a Canadian Student studying tourism. I have also been involved in a CBT Development Project in Vietnam. In June and July of this year a group of faculty and students will travel to Paraguay to work with two partnering universities in a second project modeling the one in Vietnam. Some of us may be traveling into Brazil before / after we are finished in Paraguay.

It may be beneficial for some of us to see what you have done with your project. It seems that you have focused on fostering links with responsible tour operators and the communities. These skills may be helpful in the next couple years of our current project.

Please offer some information on where you are located in Brazil. This would be greatly appreciated. I will talk with my group at our next meeting and see if meeting with you could be a possibility.

Thanks
