It's the most innovator program
I had never heard of Travel For Good until recently and I think the program is fantastic. The concept of giving back while visiting a destination is something that I think more and more people are becoming passionate about - with natural disasters affecting communities around the world, many are looking for ways to help. This program opens doors for those looking to give back, but with no idea where to start. I think the website is great and am definiltey planning to utilize it on my next trip!
Travelocity is doing WONDERS to promote international volunteerism!! Not only are they working hard to help underprivileged people, they are making it possible to afford international volunteerism. With their $5,000 grants, they are inspiring people to reach out to those in third world countries. Travelocity deserves to be recognized for their contribution to international volunteerism!!
This is a great opportunity to do good while having a good time!
We used to say, 'leave nothing but footprints' when speaking of travel and our impact on nature. But when speaking of travel and our impact in the lives of the world's people, we must 'make a difference.' This program makes it possible!
If it weren't for the great program Travelocity created in Travel for Good I would never have known about the GlobeAware or EarthWatch organizations. It's incredible that the Travel for Good program offers unique opportunities to people that otherwise might not be able to take part in such a great cause and help the world out with their Change Ambassador program. This program has brought a real awareness to the opportunities to help and offered a great platform to introduce many new people to the idea of Voluntourism. Keep up the great work Travelocity and thank you for making me aware!
This program is a great example of how a leading company can give to others while inspiring travelers to do the same.
Travelocity- Travel for Good!!! Yes, this is a very committed company which inspires me with social responsability.
Congratulations Travelocity, you are making a great difference around the world!!
Many of us do work we truly love and are passionate about and don't make salaries that are necesary for international travel. This program which combines our love of serving others with the opportunity to enjoy a glimpse of the world outside our borders, is truly amazing. Travel for Good makes dreams come true and makes the world a better place. That's some seriously good karma.
This is an excellent program that Travelocity offers. First of all, it is not easy to find a volunteer project that is legitimate and that is partnered with a strong organization to be sure that efforts are being concentrated in the best possible way.
Second, by running this program, Travelocity creates more exposure for this great concept to millions of people each year...hopefully inspiring many who are just browsing to book a holiday to get involved and give back.
A program that excels not only for providing heal to the world where needed but actually involves its members actively. not only a program from Travelocity but from Travelocity's people.
I've always wanted to participate in a volunteer vacation. I never knew where to start or how to go about doing it. I'm sure others feel the same. Travelocity's Travel For Good program is a great place to learn about volunteer organizations and how to get involved. It's a short-cut to those who want to make a difference, but just need a little jump start to make it happen. Very motivational.
I love the idea of volunteering while on vacation. Think about it, it is hard to make time in your normal work week to volunteer so why not do it when you are off the clock and ready to enjoy life's pleasures? After all helping someone who needs you is one of the greatest feelings in the world! So next time you think vacation check out Travelocity's Travel for Good options and not only come back from vacation energized but also with the fabulous feeling of seeing someone you helped smile!
What I love about this program is that it allows individuals to make a true difference in the lives of others, through service. Both employees and customers of Travelocity are allowed to apply for the grants. The writeups from the grant awardees are inspiring - they show the human side of the changes one person can make.
I honestly never knew much about voluntourism until I read the entry details. But I like going on mission trips and helping people wherever I go so this is a really good idea and is actually promoting taking action instead of just spreading awareness.
taking one of these vacations might recharge your batteries even more since you are doing something good for others--and having travelocity pick up the tab is a nice bonus.
This is a great program. Not only does Travelocity offer volunteer travel to all travelers, but they offer it their employees also. That truly is "Travel for Good" because they encourage their employees to give back. More companies need to do this.
This is an incredible opportunity. The travel company, Travelocity, gives people the chance to go anywhere in the world and perform charity work by providing a $5000 grant to cover the cost of travel.
Most people do not have the ability to simply drop everything and pay to visit a distant part of the world. International travel can be very expensive. This is a program that appeals to people who want to contribute to important causes, but otherwise would never consider such an opportunity.
Travelling while in the same time contributing for a better World.
All of us are richer when we travel - and that's particularly true when we travel to give back. What travelocity is doing to give more people the opportunity to experience the world and help others is wonderful!
The Gnome is a good kid.
This is a wonderful program that enables travelers and employees to be able to volunteer and make a difference in the world.
What a win win scenario. People who are willing to spend their holiday time volunteering to help those in need are special people. Individuals, communities and countries benefit from volunteer tourisim and it's wonderful that Travelocity supports this cause through the Travel for Good program.
this is such a great way to give back to the world - keep it up
I think it's a phenomenal idea! Lots of people have skills to share with the world but don't have the resources to take these trips to far-flung places to help people they don't know. It's hard enough wrangling the vacation time but for Travelocity to give them the money to do it, it's like a big load off one's shoulders!
Kudos!

Travelocity's travel for good has no frontier and it connects us beyond the travel experience itself, it rewards employees and partners with the sense of accomplishment of a spiritual human mission each one of us looks for towards each other anywhere in the world.
giving money to people so they can pay for their travel to other parts of the world and volunteer in worthy endeavors...how cool is that?!
