What a unique, fantastic and innovative idea Wendy and Rick Tendys have come up with in order to carry on their dedication of helping to educate the children of Vanuatu, for generations to come.
I understand the public acceptability barrier they have come across with their idea of raffling off their resort. I too, as one of the general public that come across the "Win a Resort" website, was somewhat sceptical...but after sending a few emails back and forth and drilling Wendy on the what, how, why, when and wherefore's - which she was more that happy to answer -I realised that it is indeed a genuine competion and opportunity to own my own resort!!
Wendy and Ricks dedication to the people of Vanuatu is truly inspiring and the YouMe Foundation is truly a remarkable innovative example of geotourism, through its ongoing commitment to increasing community pride and helping to protect and enrich the character of both the place and its people, through education.
I strongly encourage everyone to support, buy a ticket and spread the word and work of the YouMe foundation. Now only will you be helping to change the life of those less fortunate, but it may well just change your life also.
What an amazing site for anyone who is interested in improving the social fabric of the world. The Seachange project through the YouMe Support Foundation is one I can thoroughly recommend as genuine and worthwhile. As a visitor to Seachange Lodge 2 years ago I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to support a community I would never have know about without the dedication of Wendy and Rick Tendys.
The beauty and simplicity of life in Vanuatu, and the development of a sustainable economy serving the environment and its people equally, can only be achieved and maintained by the education of all its youth, not just those financially secure.
I encourage everyone to help spread the word about this project to ensure its speedy success and to enable continuation of the work of the Foundation.
