Hello again Layne, You have submitted a number of entries from your Boys to Men organization. Could you specify what it is about this specific entry that is unique and different from the others? Thank you.

Hi Dana,
This particular entry is for the entire organization and represents all our programming as a whole. When we were initially invited to enter this competition, the woman who contacted us urged us to apply multiple times, one entry for each of our programs and one entry for B2M in general. We are just really good at following suggestions.
Please let me know if you have any others questions.
Thanks for your interest,
Layne
Congratulations on your growing organization and its ability to influence more and more youth!
I am a Master’s of Social Work student (I see that you are also a social worker!) and am writing to piggyback off an article I found on your website. I came across John Badalament’s article on “Facing” in your June/July newsletter in which John talks about the importance of his reconciliation experience with his father. Out of curiosity, I am interested to what degree B2M addresses this issue with their youth? A well-cited article by Shawn H. Katz “Healing the Father-Son Relationship: A Qualitative Inquiry into Adult Reconciliation” includes a great resource: a enlightening questionnaire for youth to discuss this process and their feelings around it. Perhaps it can be of use or spark interesting dialogue:
Hi Todd,
Thank you for your interest and taking the time to check out our quarterly e-newsletters. We address the issue of father-son relationships in several ways. At each of our annual B2M conferences, we offer father-son communication workshops. We actively invite boys and their fathers or adult mentors to attend all of our programs and offer opportunities to explore the father-son connection- in all its complexities. Your suggestion of the article and questionaire by Shawn Katz is a great one. I am not familiar him or his writing. Thank you!
