      Dear Mercedes:

Thank you for participating in this collaborative competition. We value the time and effort you’ve put forth and we would like to offer you feedback and some thought provoking questions from our Evaluation Team.

The idea of mapping lines of local authority, decision-making, and budgets could have a positive impact on public participation and the community as a whole. There was concern as to how Transparencia Venezuela could overcome local government fear of revealing public information and the municipality perception that the project is attempting to undermine authority and funding. There were questions as to how willing Venezuelan companies would be to invest in an initiative that implicitly shows lack of faith in the Chavez government.

Please use this input as both potential insights into your innovations, as well as constructive ideas for how to improve or grow your organization.

      Warm regards,
      The Changemakers Evaluation Team

      Hello Merchy,

Your plan to use the sports arena as a way to address broader government transparency and corruption is unique and very interesting. It seems that in order for your project to have the desired impact it would be necessary for you the government to be supportive. What is your current relationship with the Venezuelan government? Are they supportive of this plan? Could you expand upon your delivery model? What are your next steps? We look forward to hearing from you soon.
